As an Independent, I want to focus on the needs and concerns of residents, and be able to use the best ideas to address issues without concern for one's political party. From engaging with other residents, so far my priorities to address are: 1) Public safety issues. Will continue to be a vocal advocate for the township on safety issues like the Mariner East pipeline, as well as the state of our infrastructure and traffic congestion. 2) Balancing strategic planning for the future of Middletown with preservation of its open spaces and character. This includes steps the township should take to offset the effects of development already completed or in process, such as stormwater management issues. 3) Proactive government transparency and community engagement. Proponent of casual forums where residents can regularly communicate with their council members in a comfortable setting, and detailed township updates in print such as newspapers and retirement community newsletters.

First, if I am elected, I will bring transparency to Council. I think it’s incredibly important for all members of our township to know why certain things are and aren’t being done. Second, I will make sure decisions are made with the safety of our community in mind. Third, I will strive to come up with a long term strategic plan for the township regarding development and other related issues. Middletown is growing rapidly and more needs to be done to explore how the choices of today will impact us for years to come.
