North Penn School District School Director (2 YR Term)

A school board is a legislative body of citizens called school directors, who are elected locally by their fellow citizens and who serve as the governing body of each public school district. Each board consists of nine members who serve four-year terms of office. Unlike most other elected officials, school directors receive no compensation for their work. Principal duties include appointing and/or dismissing superintendents, principals and teachers; levying school taxes; purchasing land; locating new buildings; adopting textbooks and courses of study; fixing salaries of teachers and other appointees of the Board.

As a parent of a student that graduated from North Penn HS and a grandparent whose grandson is attending Inglewood Elementary School, I appreciate this opportunity to talk about our vision for the North Penn School District.

North Penn Neighbors for Progress is about the educational, social, and emotional needs of our children. To be successful, we need to communicate honestly, openly, and effectively with the parents, teachers, administrators, and taxpayers in our community.

We need to continue to improve North Penn responsibly. Our current team is working on North Penn’s first 10-Year Comprehensive Facilities Plan with input from the community. Two public forums were televised to get community input. North Penn Neighbors for Progress was proud to announce Full Day Kindergarten for our students. This will prepare our students to meet rising state standards, and give our teachers time to understand and address students educational, social, and emotional needs.
During my career I designed, developed, and implemented computer systems for major corporations including GE Aerospace, GE Astrospace, Smith Kline, Wyeth, Aetna, and Independence Blue Cross.

My experience includes writing business proposals, business analysis, project planning, project management, and team leadership.

I donate blood regularly, donated bone marrow, coached girls basketball, and worked at Saint Stans festival. Along with my business and technical education, these are the qualifications I will use to make North Penn schools a place where our children can succeed
