I think the council could be proactive in bringing new business to Main Street. I think pop-up shops are fun and interesting and I believe this can be done by working with current building owners and potential tenants. It's good way for a new business to test their idea and it's fun so it people will be interested. Also, I think the borough council members should work closely with the County Commissioners to bring business to the area that will hire local people. I want everyone in the borough to know they are appreciated and I will do my best to serve Stroudsburg Borough residents.

I believe that the 2 monthly sessions should also include the council members to meet a third time during the month to talk to the Borough "Committees", youth organizations, VFW Retirees, Merchants, Art Communities and Historic members on how the council can help in making new strides , to build the economy, reduce taxes, help the children of our town, fight the route 80 project and bring the community back together through low cost creativity, design and historical values and practicality. This can be done utilizing County, State, National Grants and available endowments.

Current Occupation Property Management
Qualifications for Office 20 year Council member, 20 years Planning Commission 1973-1993, Police Commission Member, President of Monroe County 911 Control Center Board
As a 20 year incumbent, I feel the best suggestions to improve effectiveness are:

To be diligent in the position held.

Working with our local legislators to lower our taxes and bring higher paying jobs to our area.

Increased use of grants to help repair, promote and enhance our Borough, allowing council to not raise taxes or as little as possible.

Keeping up with pertinent issues that affect the Borough so ordinances can be updated and created in a timely manner to protect our community.

Being proactive, by encouraging growth to increase our tax base, especially due to the Rte. 80 project that proposes to take taxable properties.

Continue to be available to listen to the needs of my community, residents and business people alike.

I believe as a Stroudsburg Borough Council member it will be important to find a balance between preservation and progress. We have an incredible town with opportunity for growth. The borough needs to work with the county and the school district to maximize the potential for progress by creating Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) zones. LERTA zones will encourage the development of our vacant and burned out lots on Main St and other commercial zones in the borough. The revenue generated from this needs to be put back into infrastructure improving our roads and keeping local tax rates in check.
