Current Occupation Office Manager
Qualifications for Office First and foremost, I have children attending East Stroudsburg schools so I am aware of the opportunities and challenges with which our children face in school. I began regularly attending School Board meetings in May 2018 so I am familiar with current school board business. In addition, I have been a Girl Scout Troop Leader since 2012. I served three years as a Regional Governance Delegate representing the East Stroudsburg Service Unit within the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania council. I served as Secretary of Smithfield Elementary PTO from 2017-2019, and I am a veteran of the U.S. Army.
The biggest issue facing East Stroudsburg Area School District is its Administration steering decisions being made by the School Board. This is especially concerning given the School Boards’ upcoming responsibility to set property tax millage rates. This decision will be dependent on information provided by Monroe County Assessment Office to the school district business office and, in turn, to School Board Directors. It is necessary for School Board Directors to ask questions and do their own research rather than assuming provided information is complete and factual. Doing so will keep Administration accountable and allow School Board Directors to make better-educated decisions.
