I have worked for years helping businesses around town that have had problems turn things around and become profitable again. I started my own business and was in the black before the end of the first year. I have even been helping local businesses with charities and promotions.
Infrastructure - Make things more sustainable for the future, not the short term fix that's been going on for so long. City growth - Work with the groups of the city like LEAP to grow the city to what it could be and should be. Bring us back to the forefront of development without jeopardizing what makes us the town we are. Bring the city up to date so we are no longer the last to get the things and services that can benefit the people living here not just the business.
I would like to give the people a voice in the council and stop the city from doing the things that only help them and not the people of the city keeping open communications with the people in the way they are open to the public like it was meant to be. Openly posting the plans that are going on weeks before the vote letting the people give their opinion on the topic before it is concerted or voted on.
I am looking to fix the problems of the city in the long-term, not just a patchwork that we have had for so long. Let the people of the city voice their opinion on the problems. I would like to even let the people in the people of La Porte pick some of the things that are discussed to make it a true city for the people.
Occupation/Background I work with cities and towns throughout the State of Indiana seeking grants and low-interest loans to design and oversee infrastructure improvements, including roads, bridges, drainage, drinking water, sewer systems, treatment plants, water towers, parks, and related elements.

I'm a family man that is committed to serving La Porte in a manner that improves our community. I'm active in many community and service organizations including Rotary, Boy Scouts, and Kiwanis (Vice-president). I currently serve our City as the president of the Business Improvement District and vice-president of our Historic Preservation Commission. I will capitalize my professional background of delivering innovative sustainable solutions for road, drainage and utility projects; combined with my grant funding and deep knowledge of the construction industry to get the most value for our community. As a professional civil engineer, I've developed relationships in many communities across Indiana including grant and regulatory agencies that will benefit our City Council.
1) Long-term focus for road, drainage, and utility infrastructure that involves proactive asset management. An approach that will result in the least cost for our community over time. 2) Increase economic development options. I'd like to see improvements in our design and construction standards that embrace new sustainable construction practices and result in lower overall costs. 3) Adequate resources for our police department.
I'll be available for conversations, an active listener, and problem solver for our community.

1) I'll be active in assisting with reduced truck traffic in La Porte. 2) I'd like to see a continued resurgence in economic development as measured by an increase in high paying jobs. 3) I'll be involved with getting the most infrastructure possible for our dollars. This will involved maximizing grant opportunities and getting the project right the first time.
In my professional civil engineering background, I’m routinely in a leadership role related to buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects. I'm involved in the assessment, design, and construction of public infrastructure improvements. Combined with a strong sense of professional ethics and responsibility. I regularly manage large budgets, construction contracts, and believe that my construction background and experience will benefit the city in many ways.
