I am running to advance and support efficient local government in the best interests of the residents of Lower Makefield Township (LMT). For me, this is the next logical step in my history of volunteer work on behalf of the Township. I have served in youth sports as a long-time coach at YMS (girls soccer), and since 2007 as a member of the LMT Zoning Hearing Board, where I am presently the Board Secretary. Lower Makefield Township is important to my family and I as it has been our home for 25 plus years, with both of our children proudly graduating from the Pennsbury School District. I hope to use my skills and experience for the benefit of the residents of LMT while performing my duties on the Board of Auditors with accountability and transparency.
As a practicing attorney for over 30 years I have a strong background in critical thinking, problem solving and negotiating skills, along with extensive experience in negotiating, evaluating and crafting financial settlements. I am the managing partner of my firm with vast administrative and oversight responsibilities. Additionally, I have been a long-standing member of the LMT Zoning Hearing Board (presently Board Secretary), which gives me insight into issues affecting residents of the Township. If elected to a position on the Lower Makefield Township Board of Auditors, I am confident my experience will serve the residents well.
Experience My relevant experience includes managing P&L, finances and accounting for public and privately held organizations and managing budgets for government agencies.

I have served as auditor, LMT, for the past 6 years. It is an excellent way to stay informed about the financial matters of the Township and to raise awareness among residents about how their tax dollars are being managed and spent. At times there have been controversies in the community around investments and expenditures of tax dollars. I have been able to provide perspective and context to residents about the facts concerning the expenditures and the Township's financial health. On one occasion, as head of hte Auditors, I worked with my peer auditors to request an inquiry into matter concerning use of Township infrastructure which had a positive outcome. I believe representing the Township residents' financial interests is an important way to serve the residents and the Township and it is one way I can contribute to my community.
I have been a business leader in the life science and healthcare industry for more than 25 years with fiduciary responsibility for P&L, financial investments and accounting for public and privately held companies, government agencies and not for profit agencies. I understand the need for financial accountability to stakeholders and the role and purpose of the auditing function to ensure appropriate accounting standards are followed. More than that, as an LMT resident for more than 18 years, I have a deep understanding and concern for my community and the sustainability of our Township's infrastructure. Serving as auditor is my way of offering my experience and expertise to ensure our financial health and giving back to a community that is such a central and vital part of my family's life in LMT and Bucks County.
