One of the most important issues is getting PaDot to repave Main Street. They have not been very responsive to our needs. The second most important issue is maintaining our water system. We do a good job of keeping up with PA DEP’s ever increasing requirements. The third issue is preserving open space. We have done quite well for a tiny borough and when the PA DCNR grant is received we will have preserved a little over 16 acres, which is in addition to our park. Not bad for a borough only 0.4 sq. mile.
I am running because I love our borough and enjoy working for the benefit of our residents. I get a great sense of accomplishment by keeping taxes down (we lowered real estate taxes in 2010), providing trash collection with the lowest rates in many years, no water rate increase in 15 years, and by carrying no debt. I thoroughly enjoy chairing our annual community day committee, something I have dome for 20 years and will continue doing if reelected.
My experience includes already serving on council for 20 years and serving on the borough’s planning commission. I have earned well over 200 credits in courses in leadership, inter-governmental cooperation, fiscal management, legislative advocacy, etc. I am the first ever recipient of the Outstanding Planning Education Achievement Award from the PA Chapter of the American Planning Association and the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute. In 2016 I received the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence. I have 6 years of experience as a Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer for a neighboring township, I’m a past president of the Bucks County Boroughs Association and a current officer in the state association of boroughs.

The extreme traffic problem is the issue in Trumbauersville that needs immediate attention. This issue started to worsen after a local bridge renovation. The inevitable result is that our borough streets have turned into the Quakertown Bypass. This opening has led to multiple occurrences of destroyed parked cars, vehicles leaving the roadway and damage to houses and property. It will be necessary to collaborate with county and state officials to create a comprehensive solution that will include, but not be limited to, restrictions on commercial truck traffic, lower speed limits, additional speed bumps, new signage and to even emend geocoding in order to change electronic GPS routing. This collaboration could return our neighborhood streets to a condition that will make it safe for the children to walk to school again and return residents to their previous quality of life.
The changes that I would like to see addressed are for local government to be completely transparent about all issues that could affect the homeowners’ quality of life and property values. Secondly, I would work toward putting together a program that takes into greater consideration the needs of our senior citizens and most vulnerable residents. If elected to the Borough Council, I will actively pursue these goals.
30 plus years of people management experience, combined with technical knowledge and a willingness for a hands-on approach--a leader by example.
