The biggest issue being faced today is the illegal drug problem and the related costs to municipalities. This issue will have to be addressed through continued vigilance from our police force. In addition, we will continue to educate and engage the public to assist law enforcement in these efforts. This is a problem that we can only combat with everyone's help.

In addition, Borough Council must continue to hold the line on taxes and utilities rates, while providing the services and programs that the residents in our community have come to expect. This will need to be accomplished by a continuous review of the Borough budget to find any areas that may provide savings. Borough council and management have done a great job of this in recent years and we will continue to look for ways to stretch the funds we have available. In recent years, we have been able to utilize grant programs, as well as community volunteers to continue adding to the Borough's assets and programs.
I am running for re-election so we can continue moving forward with the projects that have been started in the Borough over my previous two terms. Great progress is being made on the business and economic front with the addition of new businesses in our downtown and changes being made to underutilized buildings throughout the Borough. Our parks system continues to be updated, with the changes nearing completion at the Park at 4th, changes happening at the Main Street Park and an ongoing planning process for the renovation of Panther Playground. We have a great team in place to continue moving forward with these projects and allow the Borough to consider more investment in the future.
I am in my eighth year on Borough council and have learned a lot in that time about the workings of our local government. I have also worked with several groups over that time to find out what the community wants from their elected officials. In addition, I have over 25 years of business experience, which has included the preparation of budgets and tracking progress to make sure those budgets were followed and provided for the long term health of the related entities.
