Central Bucks School District School Director Region 8 (4 YR Term)

A school board is a legislative body of citizens called school directors, who are elected locally by their fellow citizens and who serve as the governing body of each public school district. Each board consists of nine members who serve four-year terms of office. Unlike most other elected officials, school directors receive no compensation for their work. Principal duties include appointing and/or dismissing superintendents, principals and teachers; levying school taxes; purchasing land; locating new buildings; adopting textbooks and courses of study; fixing salaries of teachers and other appointees of the Board.

During my first term on the board, we have implemented positive changes to our elementary report cards, our middle school schedule, our transparency as a district, financial stability, capital planning and many other areas. I would like to continue serving on the board to ensure these changes are monitored appropriately for adjustments. In my next term, I remain committed to serving as a good financial steward and working toward zero percent tax increases each year. I will also continue to analyze recommendations and commit resources responsibly to address the physical safety of our students and staff in our buildings. I will continue to advocate for analyzing school start times for our secondary students and will work to continue the public process of examining this issue in the hopes of creating a schedule that appropriately addresses the health needs of our students. Finally, I will continue to fight to maintain the quality of education we expect for our children.
My husband and I have lived and raised our children in Doylestown Township for 18 years. Our 2 oldest are proud CB West graduates and our youngest is currently a CB West student. All 3 attended Doyle Elementary and Lenape Middle School. As a resident in this community, I have worked as a leader and volunteer and have always worked to support families and children. This service continues to provide the basis of my work as a school board member. I have held the positions of CBSD School Board President, CBSD Finance Committee Chair, MBIT School Board Director, Co-Founder of CB Engage, Doyle HSA Co-President, CBSD Strategic Plan Member, OLMC CCD Teacher and CBAA Lacrosse Director and Soccer Coach.
