My approach is engaging in tireless, substantive outreach through substantive conversations with as many residents as possible of this unique, progressive village my parents moved our family to in 1967. I spent my childhood here. I returned as frequently as possible during my 26 years as an attorney in Washington DC, Arizona and the Middle East. I have returned to Croton to give back to this community that means so much to me and my numerous family members who never left the region.
I strongly support properly planned, cost-effective affordable housing projects. Increasing affordable housing in Croton-on-Hudson increases our diversity and enriches the lives of our ~8,000 residents. The addition of low- and moderate-income households has diverse ancillary benefits: for example, it brings economic benefits to a community, and it allows family funds to be better spent on improving physical and mental health, and educational programs - not paying for over-priced dwellings.

I think the best approach to the important issues facing the Village of Croton is to educate myself thoroughly. I am a strong believer in the need for more and better communication between government and citizens, so once informed I would share the information I have gathered with residents. In my long experience as a small business owner and a teacher of young children, I prefer the collaborative approach and would encourage active participation of all residents in the decision making process.
I would like to see an increase in fair and affordable housing in Croton. I believe it is important for the social and economic health of our Village to reflect the diversity of the larger community in which we live. Due to the recent re-zoning of the Harmon Gateway area to allow for mixed use development, we are seeing an increase in rental apartments in the Village, but I believe we need to do more to create real fair and affordable housing options as well.
