Issues run the gamut from climate change preparedness to infrastructure investment and smart economic development. Balancing the needs of different demographics and ensuring every voice be heard is critical. All sides will be received with an open mind, followed by a safety, health, and economic cost/benefit analysis of the ramifications to Bedford's residents. I'd like more residents engaged in town governance on issues they care about, growing an increasingly spirited, invested community.
Bedford's income inequality gap is growing. More safe, affordable homes will let teachers, 1st responders & lower-wage working families afford to live where they work. We want seniors to age in place, & people with disabilities to have quality housing. Westchester's homeless population increased by thousands in recent years & we must help tackle their housing crisis. Breaking down barriers & seeking fair, innovative solutions can provide affordable housing while preserving Bedford's character.

My approach to tackling issues is to involve stakeholders, listen to a broad range of facts and opinions, and to work towards solutions that help the greatest number of people while achieving our goals and saying under the property tax cap. As a former environmental attorney, community organizer, and nonprofit leader, I work at Bedford 2020 to protect our environment and improve our quality of life. I will continue with this approach to make Bedford green, inclusive, and economically vibrant
The Town of Bedford should increase the supply of fair and affordable and middle-income housing. I would do more to improve housing affordability and increase development of housing that is fair, decent, safe, affordable and attractive. I will work with the Bedford Town Housing Committee and Blue Mountain Dev Corp to promote assistance to homebuyers and programs for developers to increase housing opportunities. I will also promote programs to help low and fixed income people stay in their homes.

Maintaining the quality of the services we provide our residents and taxpayers while keeping taxes in check so that seniors and others can afford to stay here. We must do everything in our power to support the businesses in our hamlets who are under increasing pressure to survive and thrive. Protecting our environment and our open spaces and setting the standard for our region will continue to be a top priority as well as supporting the many community organizations that make Bedford, Bedford.
I serve as a board member for Allied Community Enterprises an affordable housing advocacy organization. I remain committed to developing new affordable projects. We have a great tradition of innovation and accomplishment in affordable housing. Through our award-winning Blue Mountain Housing Corporation, Bedford has had great success in developing affordable housing. Bedford also maintains an affordable housing trust fund in order to support future development of affordable units.
