Prior to public service I enjoyed an extensive and respected career in North Dakota's private sector. Throughout that time I was consistently recognized for exceptional leadership, operational excellence and putting people first.

Since growing up on a farm, agriculture has always been a part of my life. My agricultural background combined with business management experience and community involvement, including continuing to be active with numerous non-profit organizations provides a solid, consistent base of knowledge applicable to my role as a North Dakota Public Service Commissioner.

As a father, I understand the importance of not only living in the present but managing our state in a way that benefits future generations.
I have a deep and sincere desire to help preserve the values that make North Dakota an incredible place to call home. Like many North Dakotans I believe in limited, effective government that empowers people, conservative values and the need to apply those principles to how government works.

While we're fortunate to live in a state rich in natural resources it's critical to manage them in a responsible manner that follows the rule of law, supports economic growth and creates new job opportunities, balanced with sound environmental stewardship.

My faith, family values, agricultural upbringing, extensive private-sector background and perspective as a western North Dakota landowner are guiding principles I use each and every day.
Ensuring responsible infrastructure development, reliable and affordable energy, fiscally responsible government and exceptional environmental stewardship are my top priorities but also present challenges that must be effectively addressed both present day and in the future.

At the same time those challenges create opportunities North Dakota and its citizens can capitalize and benefit from. Government's role is to be responsible and responsive, operating in a manner that empowers citizens, our state's greatest resource.

I will continue to be an advocate for consumers and landowners alike, applying both personal and professional experience to help build a stronger North Dakota both today and in the future.
