KC’s 470 miles of paved county roads scheduled to be resurfaced every ten years but have been delayed to every 18 years. More funding is needed to get KC back on schedule. I pledge my commitment to keep all of our county roads paved.
East KC Wastewater line will eliminate septic systems for tracts .5 ac. or less at no cost to landowners. Although optional for larger tracts, it is anticipated most landowners will connect. Net effect is to significantly reduce affluent into the river and better protect water quality.
Domestic violence, stalking, sexual abuse of minors, and human trafficking. Reduce reporting time from KPD and IPD to KC Victim Services to contact victims sooner to prevent return to abusive environments. Victim Services needs the latest version of VS Tracking program to better monitor victims and abusers.
Vigilant enforcement and updates of KC’s Subdivision Rules scheduled to be reviewed this year. Economic development and incentives must be carefully weighed and evaluated on a case by case basis to protect our values and steward responsible growth.
KCJ is the Chief Budget Officer of Commissioner's Court which is responsible for administration of county government. KCJ presides over juvenile, mental health, and probate dockets. I managed multimillion dollar budgets for businesses, KISD, attended every Commissioner's Court meeting and Budget Workshop to be familiar with entire KC budget process.
My priority of criteria for departmental vacancies are experience, qualifications, education, enthusiasm, and commitment to getting the job done and working as a team member for the greater good of the entire county regardless of race, color, sex, or precinct of origin.

The recent computer attack on the KCAD raises the priority of the County information technology infrastructure. Forward thinking and planning and possible increased funding is necessary to keep pace with threats that have the potential to bring our county government to a halt.
Kerr County is an agent for TCEQ concerning water quality and supply in the County. The County will continue to work closely with TCEQ and state law to protect and preserve the water quality and supply in the County and to protect our rivers and streams.
Mental health issues are a huge problem for law enforcement in the County. We will continue to work with the State Hospital and other mental health organizations to bring the proper mental health treatment to those in need.
The County doesn’t have ordinance-making powers; but, we can regulate the standards for real estate subdivisions, including the construction of platted, private roads. The County will continue its excellent program for the maintenance and construction of paved county roads and bridges. There are no unpaved county roads.
The Judge presides over probate, juvenile, and mental health courts. I have legal practice experience in all three courts. The Judge is responsible for preparing the County budget. I have been certified/designated a “Professional Financial Planner” by Old Dominion University, Virginia, and am familiar with planning and budgeting.
Where there is authority to appoint county department vacancies, we will coordinate with all departments and human resources for the proper criteria to be applied to the specific vacancy. We will make sure the process is transparent and open to all qualified candidates and compliant with the existing budget.
