Clark City of Camas Proposition 1
The City of Camas Council adopted Resolution No. 17-016, concerning Proposition No. 1. Proposition No. 1 would renew its expiring EMS levy and levy each year for a period of six consecutive years beginning in 2019 and collect a general tax on taxable property within the city, in an amount not to exceed $0.46 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation of such property. Explanatory Statement Since 1979, Camas voters have authorized the property tax levy for emergency medical services within the City. The levy expires at the end of 2018. Council desires to continue to provide emergency medical services and has adopted a resolution to place before the voters a proposition for a continued six-year EMS levy as authorized under RCW 84.52.069. This proposition would authorize the City to levy up to $0.46 per $1,000 of assessed valuation in property tax. This levy would be collected for each of six consecutive years, beginning in 2019, subject to statutory limitations set forth in RCW Chapter 84.55.
