Eatonville School District #404 - Proposition No. 1
Replacement Educational Programs and Operations LevyThe Board of Directors of Eatonville School District No. 404 adopted Resolution No. 685 concerning educational funding. If approved, Proposition No. 1 will authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, replacing an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, to support the District’s educational programs and daily operations, including teachers, staff, classroom materials, and textbooks not funded by the State of Washington:Collection Year Estimated Levy Rate/$1,000 Assessed ValueAmount2019 $2.51 $3,695,438 2020 $2.51 $3,898,688all as provided in Resolution No. 685. Explanatory StatementPassage of Proposition No. 1 would replace an expiring levy and allow the levy of $3,695,438 in property taxes within Eatonville School District for collection in 2019 and the levy of $3,898,688 for collection in 2020. In accordance with Resolution No. 685 approving thls proposition, these taxes would be deposited in the Eatonville School District’s General Fund to pay part of the general expenses of operating the District. General expenses of the District include employee costs (such as salaries), instructional materials, special programs, activities and sports, technology systems operation, transportation costs, maintenance of facilities and other non-capital expenses of operating the District schools. If authorized by the voters, such property taxes would be collected at a rate estimated to be $2.51 per $1,000 of 2018 assessed valuation and $2.51 per $1,000 of 2019 assessed valuation. The exact levy rate shall be adjusted based upon the actual assessed value of the property within the District at the time of the levy.
