One of my strongest qualifications for seeking public office is my academic training and professional expertise in inter-community development. I believe in data-driven policy paired with compassionate legislation to secure positive community and economic progress. My service in Congress will be guided by a community-first perspective. My appointments in several leadership roles prepare me to serve as a representative for all constituents.
As I've toured the district since March 2017, healthcare, rural economy, and education emerge as some of the most pressing issues for many. I strongly believe in "Medicare for All" to ensure a healthy and viable working class that can build and sustain a strong economy. We must provide our farmers with long-term support and protection. Lastly, support for our rural schools and hospitals is critical for our friends and families across TX-19.
First, I would like true healthcare reform that yields to affordability and access for all. Second, I would like to see economic investment in our rural communities and long-term support of our farmers. Third, I would like to see student loan forgiveness programs for graduates in professional areas needed here in our district, such as social work, rural healthcare providers, teachers, and agriculture. We need to invest in the future of TX-19.
