Which responsibility of a Court of Appeals justice and is your highest priority and how do you intend to accomplish it?
Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M University; Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law)
I’m a native Texan with a law practice that has spanned multiple jurisdictions. Cases I have worked on range from million dollar personal injury claims to workaday business disputes. My career has aimed at solving problems with pragmatic solutions.
The recent focus on social justice issues provides a great opportunity to improve the legal system for our economically and socially disadvantaged neighbors. The legislature and local governments should take the opportunity to increase funding for indigent defense and actual innocence programs, as well as programs which fund legal aid in civil cases.
My highest priority is being an impartial justice with a pragmatic and progressive approach to the cases before the court. As someone who has spent much of my career representing injured workers and their families I will bring a diversity of thought to the court that the Texans living within this Court of Appeals district deserve.
