I have 13 years of judicial experience, 27 years of legal experience and over 30 years of community service to the people of Texas. I represented you, the taxpayer, international oil companies and individual homeowners.
Your lawyer is not doing you any good if he or she doesn’t return your phone calls. Neglect and failure to communicate top the list of complaints against attorneys. The Court should require additional training for lawyers and easier access to resources for clients in need of assistance.
I’m running for judge because we need to get politics out of the courtroom. A good place to start is to follow the money. Campaign finance and ethics laws need to be strengthened to guard against undue influence and conflicts of interest. Judicial decisions should be guided by the law, not by the influence of major donors or political power brokers.
All our decisions must be governed by the Texas and US Constitutions, not ideology or politics. “All courts shall be open, and every person … shall have remedy by due course of law,” and “No State shall...deny to any person...the equal protection of the laws.” Texans deserve Justices strong enough to be faithful to the constitution and tell their political backers no.
