Education I graduated from the University of Texas Law School, served on the Texas Law Review, and was the Vice-Chancellor. I have a business degree from the University of Texas at Austin in accounting and Honors Business and graduated with highest honors.
I have two decades of experience as a trial court and an appellate judge. I have been honored locally and nationally for my work to improve justice for all Texans.
The Commission on Access to Civil Legal Services, on which I serve, has made recommendations to the Texas Supreme Court for improving access to civil legal services in Texas. The commission's report is available at www.txcourts.gov/media/1436563/complete-cecls-report.pdf. I am on the board of the Houston Volunteer Lawyers, which secures representation for those in need.
My primary responsibility is to defend our Constitution and laws and to resolve disputes between Texans. I work to timely resolve cases with reasoned judgments, based on the rules of law that apply to the facts at hand.
