My first five years in office, my focus has been finding efficiencies in our processes and overhauling our information technology infrastructure. These accomplishments allow us to do our job better, saving time and money for taxpayers and industry.
I take seriously my duty to protect our natural resources while industry creates jobs. Strong, fair, consistent regulation ensures a safe environment and economic growth. During my time at the Railroad Commission, we have updated our rules to ensure the industry continues to do business in Texas, and at the same time, we have kept our communities and environment clean.
Through the Sunset review process, the Railroad Commission has had considerable discussion about bettering its functions. We are more efficient today because of these efforts. One important reform, we are making improvements to our oil and gas monitoring and enforcement program, and oversight of Texas’ pipeline infrastructure.
I’ll continue to maximize our efficiency and effectiveness; defend our state’s regulatory authority over energy development; increase transparency, bringing more agency data online; support streamlined permitting for infrastructure, ensuring safe transport of our energy resources; and, advocate for educational paths for a highly-trained, technically-skilled workforce.

Weston is the only candidate in this race who endorsed Ted Cruz in the primary and Trump in the general when facing Clinton.
We're going to support oil and gas producers who responsibly produce energy in our state and we're going to make it easier for them to do business, but we will always reprimand bad actors.

Protect land owners and business owners and stop running commission like a dictatorship.
For land owners we must always focus on making changes at the commission that better protect private property rights while still encouraging oil and gas development. How we deal with allocation wells
