I ran for the first Peachtree Corners City Council after serving on Peachtree Corners Yes and working to promote cityhood. I believed Peachtree Corners would benefit from becoming a city and controlling our own destiny. Once the referendum passed, I wanted to ensure that our city was created as we had planned, an efficient, cost-effective and customer service oriented. Working with staff and fellow council members, I have acquired deep knowledge of city processes and codes. I participated in the Georgia Municipal Association’s (GMA) training program and obtained a Certificate of Achievement which requires 72 hours of training, including at least 36 hours from the required list and the Newly Elected Officials Institute. This training is designed for specifically for city council members to educate the on their roles and responsibilities. Topics include law, finance, ethics, planning & zoning, etc. I am a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett, Class of 2017. This is a nine-month program focusing on Gwinnet County services issues. It enhances relationships with county officials and with fellow class members.
Peachtree Corners is extremely healthy, financially. We have a zero city millage rate and lower county taxes than unincorporated Gwinnett County. We have formulated long term plans based on what we can afford given our current cash flows. SPLOST dollars fund capital projects while business license and franchise fees funds daily operations. I am committed to maintaining a zero millage rate and spending the funds we receive in a fiscally responsible manner.
In 2014 the City of Peachtree Corners was recognized for earning the “Cities of Ethics” designation at the Georgia Municipal Association’s Annual Convention June 23 in Savannah. Peachtree Corners joins more than 200 cities that have received the designation. This requires that the city adopt ethics policies of a very high standard with recommendations for action if these ethics standards are violated. You can see the ordinance that was adopted here https://www.peachtreecornersga.gov/government/mayor-and-council/city-of-ethics-ordinance.
Peachtree Corners is a diverse community with businesses from all over the world. We are the largest city in Gwinnett County, the most diverse county in the United States. As such, we welcome everyone to live, work and play in our city and county.
I led the initiative to create the Green Committee, a volunteer citizens committee created initially to become an Atlanta Regional Committee (ARC) Certified Green Community. You can read about the program at https://atlantaregional.org/natural-resources/sustainability/greencommunities/. We obtained the Bronze Certification in less than a year after we began the process. Our citizens continue to work and recommend policies that improve our environment. Because of this, we have just received the Green Government award from Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful. We continue to look for ways to improve the quality of our environment.

I have lived in the City of Peachtree Corners for over 20 years and bring a variety of assets to the council. One of those is my background in marketing that was developed by building my own company, in addition I bring the experience and input of a millennial to the City Council.

As we work to bring more millennials to Peachtree Corners, it is important they are well represented on the council.
We do not have any major budget issues facing our city, I would address all spending through the lens of "How will this benefit the citizens of our city?"

If I do not feel the spending will be of benefit to Peachtree Corners residents as a whole, I will not support it.
The city should work closely with the Gwinnett County Ethics Board to ensure that all paid, appointed and elected officials act in an ethical manner and above reproach.
I will do this in the same manner that I make sure our city is welcome to everyone. I will work hard to improve the flow of traffic, make sure our tax dollars are used in the most efficient manner and fight to stop sex trafficking in our area. These are issues that will make our city welcoming to all.
We should continue to encourage the installation of electric vehicle charging stations and look closely at solar options for power.
