Experience (300 characters max) Participating in local politics since 2015. Before moving to the valley, in Kitsap County I attended the Tacoma Narrow Tolling Commission. This is my first step to start serving my community. Local politics matter.
Eastmont Metro Parks Commissioner #5: First and foremost, with having two boys, we as a family spend a lot of time in our parks. I felt this is a position that I have valuable input. It is a position that involves reviewing budgets, bidding and projects. As a small business owner and working for other firms, I have done this before and understand the process and the reasons for it.
Monitoring cost over-runs, making good decisions on new initiatives to serve the community and making our parks an attractive feature for tourists and new resident moving to the community.
Budgeting is always the most urgent. Spending the tax dollars wisely will allow us to get more for the communities money and over-time, allow us to get more projects completed that provide a better experience in our parks system.
At this time a quality aquatics facility is high on the list. Beyond that I would want to get more input from the residents to really see where their interest lie and how best we can support them. Personally I enjoy soccer, basketball and tennis.
