Education B.S. Accounting & Minor Management, Graduated Summa Cum Laude and from the Honors College, University of Akron, Akron, OH
Occupation Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Chartered Global Management Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner
Experience 15+ years accounting, auditing (external & internal), tax preparation, bookkeeping, consulting, fraud prevention/detection
Endorsements Chose not to seek endorsements for this race. If Norwood is going to get out of Fiscal Emergency, it means putting political affiliations to the side and working together. Getting what would appear to be one-sided endorsements will not help.
Political Philosophy With the Treasurer's office being more administrative and less political (unlike Council), it is critically important to be transparent, efficient, and protective of taxpayer dollars. As a Certified Public Accountant, I not only have my personal ethical standards, but also a professional obligation to put the public first.
15+ yrs accounting, auditing, tax prep, bookkeeping, consulting, fraud prevention/detection. I have worked with individuals, small/med/large companies, non-profits, & government entities. I am a Certified Public Accountant & Certified Fraud Examiner.
1. Complete an assessment of the office to determine what needs fixed and in what order. 2. Correct the problems auditors, CPAs, & residents have noted year after year (some lasting over a decade). My goal is no findings (caused by Treasurer) in the annual audit or management letter and to restore confidence that income taxes are being calculated correctly. 3. Turn the office into a model of efficiency and to become a trusted resource to residents, business owners, and other government entities.
