For the most part, Medical Lake has a descent infrastructure. Sure, there are potholes and unkempt lots. The business district has problems with vacant buildings, just waiting for the right proprietors. The challenges are definitely workable.
In our bedroom community, homelessness does not exist here.
Because Medical Lake is a smaller city, we take care of each other. No ages are excluded.
Again, illegals are not an issue here at Medical Lake. Laws are in place and must be enforced without favoritism.
There are ongoing discussions about local law enforcement coverage, as Medical Lake no longer has their own police department. Currently, we are under contract with the Spokane County Sheriff's Department for coverage. Also, the local volunteer fire department has been a subject of discussion among the town folk.
The biggest problem I see, is building the downtown business district back up. True, it will take a lot of effort, but I am reminded that a journey of a 1,000 miles begins with the first step.
The proper way to overcome the obstacles facing Medical Lake is a two step process. First, clean up the lots and fix the potholes. Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Then, businesses will want to be here. Working together, we will accomplish that. My approach; when I see and observe a problem, I analyze it and offer viable solutions, all with the help of the concerned citizens of Medical Lake. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to answer your questions.
