We must maintain the Town's rural character while keeping taxes low and not cutting back on the high level of service provided by the Town to its residents. I have worked closely and in a non-partisan manner with all Town officials, employees and volunteers to do more with less. We must manage our capital assets astutely to plan necessary expenditures. We must also address the growing problem of opiate addiction thru enforcement against dealers, treatment of users, and education.
The current legal case against Westchester County has made it clear that all Towns in the County must do their fair share to create a supply of affordable housing. North Salem has risen to the challenge. The Bridleside development is an example of how a well-run affordable housing development can address these needs even in a rural part of the County.
