Qualifications: Nearly 20 years as a patent attorney including interpretation of laws & regulations, leadership of teams, project management, and leveraging both written and oral communication skills. Volunteer Chair of many non-profit committees since high school.
I firmly believe in the public school model and favor neighborhood schools that allow for a strong sense of community involvement and support. It is important to ensure that schools are inclusive and diverse and are based upon solid fundamentals such as practical learning and STEAM education. I am generally opposed to the concept of voucher programs and charter schools. Too often, charter school programs have faith-based goals that are inconsistent with diversity, inclusion and/or science.
Financial - I will partner with the Riverdale Foundation and the PTC to leverage the generous contributions of the community to fill in any gaps for individual students and ensure they can attain their highest performance.

Inequity between "In District" vs. "Out of District" students - I will take measures to develop a Riverdale student community that is free from perceived geographical barriers.

Provide emotional support for grade school students by reevaluating our counselling program.
State and Federal requirements must be met (or exceeded). Alternatives to recommendations should be identified and considered. Small classroom size is key to Riverdale's success. Other resources that could potentially be leveraged to maintain status quo should be considered. Riverdale's long-term strategic vision must be supported. Positive morale of the faculty, students, families and community is important. The reputation of the Riverdale Schools as a top educational program is critical.
