As a taxpayer, it is important to me that our taxes are spent on quality representation of our City. As a mother, I want to see Cheviot remain a safe and family-friendly community.
I have the courtroom experience necessary to immediately assume the position without the need of a long-term special counsel. In my civil litigation practice, I have have gained valuable experience in legal research and drafting.
First, I would be tough, but fair, on crimes prosecuted in Mayor's Court. Second, I would address the issues that residents have told me they care about - vacant property and absentee landlords. I would utilize my civil litigation experience to enforce the property code as-written, and also assist City Council in drafting ordinances to address habitual non-compliance and create a vacant property registration. Third, I would modernize the office of Law Director and make it more efficient

Good judgment and conservative principles are necessary for proper legal representation of the city. Saving the citizens money is done by concentrating on the issues that are important to the city such as police and fire protection, crime prevention, fair and limited taxation, and the minimization of litigation and legal expenses.
I have drafted city legislation and prosecuted cases in Mayor’s Court; assisted in negotiating union contracts; and defended the city in civil cases. I have counseled the police, provided legal opinions, and reviewed and drafted city contracts.
First, as Council President, I focused on property maintenance and now I am holding absentee landlords accountable in Court. I am also working on a Nuisance Abatement ordinance. Second, I am modernizing Law Director procedures by updating the legislation format, creating a log of all legislation for easy reference, and have generally modernized the way in which legislation is handled. Third, I am responding promptly to requests from council and administration for legal opinions and legislation.
