The Wellesley Free Library is one of Wellesley's gems. As a Trustee, I have worked to ensure that the library provides the services that Wellesley residents need, in a fiscally responsible manner. It is important that the library continues to provide "free and convenient access" to services to all residents of Wellesley. In a time when many people feel isolated and disconnected from their neighbors, our three buildings are community gathering spaces - they provide places where young and old can access information and learn together. As residents, we all share the responsibility for ensuring access to accurate information for all. For this reason, after an 8-year, highly successful “pilot”, it is time for the Hills Branch Library to be restored to the town’s operating budget.

I will advocate for Wellesley’s first class library system; strive for continued collaboration between the library and other town boards/committees; help expand access and library services for all residents; encourage bringing the branch library operating budgets back into the town budget; and work to anticipate future directions the library will take given the rate of accelerating technological advances. I have a strong technological background and a detailed knowledge of how town budgets are developed (courtesy of my Wellesley Advisory Committee service) which I will bring to the job of Library Trustee. I am a graduate of Wellesley High School, as are my two children; and it is a privilege to give back to the town where I grew up. I ask for your vote on March 7.
