Fargo voters will vote on a city ballot measure. This election is on October 6th. If the measure passes by a majority of voters:The measure would change Fargo's form of government from a city commission to a city council.The city council would be increased to 7 members. The council would include a mayor and 6 other city council members. Currently, the city has a mayor and 4 commissioners.The city council members - except the mayor - would be elected by ward. Currently, Fargo voters elect city commissioners at-large, meaning voters across the whole city elect city commissioners.The Fargo City Commission would appoint an independent committee to divide Fargo into 6 wards with about the same population in each ward.City council members would be elected in the next regular city election (June 2028).Learn more.
