Why are you the best candidate for this position? (750 characters)
I bring a practical mix of council experience, professional experience, and deep commitment to New Hope. Since being appointed in 2025, I have worked to learn the city from the inside out: meeting with leadership in every department, talking with residents about their concerns and hopes for the future, and working with partners across Hennepin County, District 281, Three Rivers Park District, and the Legislature to drive results for New Hope. In my professional life, I help organizations understand people’s needs, improve complex systems, and measure whether solutions work. That is how I approach council service: listen early, communicate clearly, focus on outcomes, and keep New Hope welcoming, affordable, and vibrant.
If elected, what will your top three priorities be and why? (500 characters)
My top priorities are keeping New Hope affordable, strengthening our commercial tax base, and making city decisions more transparent and resident-driven. Affordability matters because families, seniors, and small businesses need to be able to stay here. Stronger retail and commercial areas can reduce pressure on homeowners while adding places to gather and shop. Better engagement helps ensure redevelopment, parks, and long-term planning reflect residents’ needs.
How do you plan to engage with and represent all members of our diverse community?(500 characters)
I will engage residents where they are and work to bring more voices to the table across race, culture, age, income, and housing status. I strongly support the Human Rights Commission’s work to connect with all parts of our community. I also want renters heard alongside homeowners. As I go door-to-door, I am spending time at apartments and multifamily homes so more neighbors know they have a say in New Hope’s future.
What steps will you take to ensure transparency and accountability in city government? (500 characters)
Transparency is one of my highest priorities. Residents should know what the city is doing, why decisions are being made, and how to weigh in before decisions are final. I will keep encouraging residents to contact council members directly, attend meetings, and use Open Forum to raise concerns. I also support efforts to make Work Sessions and Commission meetings more accessible, including exploring recordings like regular council meetings.
