What are your top priorities?
My top priorities are ensuring secure, well-run elections, maintaining accurate and accessible county records, and supporting efficient, transparent operations. As Elections Coordinator, I’ve seen how critical accuracy and trust are. I will focus on clear communication, strong coordination, and reliable information to support the County Commission and ensure Burleigh County continues to serve the public effectively.
What is your experience with preparing and overseeing budgets?
My 25 years in restaurant management gave me extensive experience preparing budgets, controlling expenses, managing payroll, and reviewing financial performance. Combined with my accounting degree and experience in the County Auditor & Treasurers Office, I understand the importance of accurate budgeting, fiscal responsibility, and making the best use of taxpayer dollars.
What leadership experience would you bring to this role?
I have 25 years of leadership experience opening and managing restaurants, where I was responsible for employees, budgets, training, customer service, and day-to-day operations. That experience taught me how to build strong teams, make difficult decisions, solve problems, and hold myself and others accountable. I have carried those same leadership skills into my work in the Burleigh County Auditor and Treasurer’s Office.
How would you manage the election process to ensure safe, fair, and accessible elections?
As Elections Coordinator, I already manage the process by focusing on planning, training, and clear procedures. I ensure accuracy, security, and transparency at every step while maintaining compliance with state law. I prioritize strong poll worker training, open communication, and accessible voting options so every eligible voter can participate with confidence.
Do you foresee a potential shortfall in the County's budget? If so, how would you address it?
As Auditor, I wouldn’t set policy but would support the Commission with clear, accurate financial information. If a shortfall is anticipated, I would ensure they have timely reports, projections, and analysis to make informed decisions. My role is to provide transparency and help identify options so the Commission can respond responsibly and effectively.

What are your top priorities?
Organization of the County Auditor Office. I have worked for Burleigh County as an Associate Planner for the last 12 years. Planning and the County Auditor overlap in several areas, so I understand what is needed. The Auditor's position was held by a single person for almost 30 years. Many of the duties completed by him were not necessarily County Auditor duties. I would work on getting back to the original position as outline in the ND Century Code.
What is your experience with preparing and overseeing budgets?
I have work for a company where I managed and maintain a department budget of 5 million dollars. I've prepared, planned, and budgeted for activities around the United States.
What leadership experience would you bring to this role?
I have an associate's degree in business management from Bismarck State College and a Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Mary. I have been a department manager for a company in Iowa, and I was a Director of a Red Cross Chapter. I also coached softball, dance, and volleyball. These experiences have taught me how to work with a team and be a team leader
How would you manage the election process to ensure safe, fair, and accessible elections?
I would work closely with the State Elections Coordinator to ensure that the County is up to date with voting requirements. I would also work closely with the county election coordinator. I would look to their experience with elections.
Do you foresee a potential shortfall in the County's budget? If so, how would you address it?
Yes, there is the potential for a shortfall. Our economy is not great right now; every family is tightening their belts. The county needs to approach each budget item as they approach their own family budgets. Families are cutting back; the county will need to also. However, Burleigh County citizens need to remember the economy affects Burleigh County administration too. Some services might need to be reduced because of the economy. Citizens and the County need to prepare for that
