What are your top priorities?
1) Strengthening public education and supporting educators
2) Reducing the influence of money in state government to increase transparency and accountability, and
3) Addressing housing affordability to ensure more North Dakotans can build stable lives in their communities.
How would you ensure that North Dakotans’ healthcare costs are affordable?
I am for Medicare for all at a broader level but doing so at our state level is no currently feasible. I would work to try and pass legislation to allow the state government to negotiate and regulate the price of drugs and procedures offered in the state.
How would you address the housing needs of the state?
I would change our current model of housing assistance. Instead of giving breaks or assistance to the construction companies to build homes. We would offer direct assistance at different rates to home buyers. This is because when given to construction companies they simply build homes more expensive with the assistance in mind for the price. The new way has new homebuyers of a new construction get the most, then new buyer old home, and even for fixing up old homes to make them more modern.
What is your position on allowing public funds to be directed to non-public education?
I am not for sending any public funds to any institution that is not publicly run.
What are your views on the current voting methods and access to voting in North Dakota?
Our method of voting is second to none. Not having voter registration is what the entire nation should adopt. That said we could improve by increasing the number of locations for people to vote at.
What is the role of the federal government regarding states’ rights, and are there currently any areas where you believe there is an imbalance?
As of right now the Federal government under the current administration does not believe in the federal constitution let alone the concept of states rights. They are abusing their power and attacking states that didn't support them in the federal election. This hurts all those in those state even those that did support them. It is hard to give a fair and nuanced answer when we are living in such an unprecedent crisis at the federal level.

What are your top priorities?
My top priorities are strengthening public education, expanding access to healthcare and childcare, increasing attainable housing, and maintaining fair property tax relief. I support responsible management of state resources, environmental protections, and transparent, accountable government. My proposals include strengthening school funding, expanding housing options, and supporting childcare for working families, with a focus on practical solutions that address everyday needs across our state.
How would you ensure that North Dakotans’ healthcare costs are affordable?
I will work to lower costs and help patients get care close to home. One way to do this is by supporting Medicaid expansion and maximizing federal matching funds. I support clear pricing so patients understand their bills, preventive care and early treatment to avoid more serious and costly problems, and training and loan repayment programs to retain healthcare professionals. A strong workforce can help reduce shortages and wait times, especially in rural communities.
How would you address the housing needs of the state?
I would work to revive the bipartisan $200 million housing investment, $25 million HOME grant program, and $13.5 million in rental assistance that failed last session. These investments would help developers close financing gaps, expand attainable housing, and support renters. I would also strengthen the workforce needed to turn plans into homes. State government must work with communities to increase housing supply, put homes within reach of working families, and help revitalize older housing.
What is your position on allowing public funds to be directed to non-public education?
No. Public funds belong in public schools. They serve every student and are accountable to the communities that support them. Diverting those dollars weakens the very system most families rely on, especially when schools are already under budget pressure. Families can make their own choices, but public funding should be fully committed to strengthening and protecting public education.
What are your views on the current voting methods and access to voting in North Dakota?
North Dakota’s voting system is generally accessible and works well for most voters. I support maintaining secure, fair elections while ensuring access remains straightforward, including early and absentee voting options. We should continue reviewing processes to make voting convenient without compromising integrity. The goal should be a system people trust, where eligible voters can participate easily and confidently.
What is the role of the federal government regarding states’ rights, and are there currently any areas where you believe there is an imbalance?
I believe the federal government should set baseline protections while allowing states flexibility to meet local needs. At times, that balance gets off. For example, federal requirements can be placed on states without sufficient funding to carry them out, creating strain on local budgets. I support a practical partnership that respects state roles while ensuring fairness, consistency, and opportunity for all Americans.
