Clark County Commissioner, District E Choose 1

Commissioners are among the most powerful local officials in Southern Nevada. They manage the county’s multi-billion-dollar budget, pass ordinances, oversee infrastructure such as roads, parks, libraries, and flood control, regulate land use and development, and provide oversight of the county jail system. Their decisions directly impact public safety, housing affordability, economic opportunity, environmental sustainability, and how transparently and responsibly taxpayer dollars are used. In a rapidly growing region like Clark County, these races are critical to ensuring accountable governance, long-term planning, and policies that serve the broad interests of the community.

What should be the county’s top budget priorities, and why?

Budget priority is to help the people’s affordability in dealing with the costly standard of living. I will propose a temporary suspension of the county sales & fuel taxes. Also, I will push for a reduction in property taxes. This is one way to put money in the pockets of county residents

Note that the county must feed the reported 100,000 children in Clark County, who are currently facing food insecurity daily. I propose more food banks distribution plus central kitchens.

The funds will be generated by cutting the salary & benefits of the top 1,100 county bureaucrats and politicians (up to $3 million annually)

What policies or initiatives, if any, would you support to address housing affordability in the county?

Affordable housing will be built on the thousands of acres of BLM “stolen land”)! They will be small dwellings, say under 1,000 square feet … this stolen land will be donated for Free !

What policies or initiatives, if any, would you support to improve public safety in the county?

To deal with the +80% above the national crime statistics average for East Las Vegas, for example, I will take up the outstanding offer from president Trump to deploy some 300 National Guardsmen to East LAs Vegas (to assist Metro LVMVD officers in thousands of expected arrests from street crimes). The same approach was successfully tried in Washington DC, Memphis, and NOLA

What should be the county’s top budget priorities, and why?

The county’s top budget priorities should be public safety, infrastructure, and responsible growth. That includes funding law enforcement, courts, and emergency services; maintaining roads and public facilities; and ensuring development is supported by infrastructure. These are core services that directly affect daily life and long-term stability. Just as important is fiscal discipline—prioritizing essential services, ensuring transparency, and using taxpayer dollars responsibly to deliver measurable results.

What policies or initiatives, if any, would you support to address housing affordability in the county?

The county’s role in housing affordability is mainly through land use, zoning, and coordination. I support clear and consistent zoning rules, encouraging a range of housing types where appropriate, and improving predictability in the permitting process to help reduce costs. The county should also align infrastructure with growth and partner with regional and nonprofit groups to expand attainable housing options. Any approach should balance affordability with neighborhood stability and long-term sustainability.

What policies or initiatives, if any, would you support to improve public safety in the county?

I support strong funding for law enforcement, fire, emergency services, and the court system to ensure residents and visitors feel safe. Public safety also means investing in prevention—youth programs, mental health and homelessness outreach, better street lighting, and traffic safety improvements. In District E, we must balance the needs of our neighborhoods with the demands of the tourism corridor by improving coordination between public safety agencies and service providers. The goal is safer communities, faster response times, and long-term solutions that reduce repeat issues.
