I have 57 years of experience as an educator K-16 including teaching and administrative work in Wellesley and elsewhere, work as a CBA negotiator in two school districts, public relations work at WHS and as an advisor to WHS student activities. I have worked in public, private and parochial schools in a variety of districts. Through this work I have gained insight into the strengths of our school system and areas that can be improved. I will support the continued excellence of our system as future challenges loom. Teacher contracts will need to be negotiated in the year ahead even as increased medical benefits costs become likely. I will seek to find an equitable balance among these conflicting fiscal demands while maintaining the primacy of the teacher as our guiding principle.

My family and I have proudly called Wellesley home for 20 years, drawn by our strong public schools and engaged community. After 15 years as a WPS parent with two children in the system (WHS 2024 and 2028), I’m running for School Committee to strengthen the fundamentals, close post-pandemic gaps, and focus resources on direct learning, enrichment, and personal growth. Students thrive when they feel they belong, so our schools must foster connection and belonging, clear expectations, and steady progress. I want our schools to be responsive–to data, families, and to the world around us. I will work to close gaps between what we promise and what we deliver, so that what we offer and how we communicate is aligned with our students’ and families’ needs.

Wellesley's public schools are the heart of our community. Like many other families, we moved to Wellesley mainly because of its top-rate schools. Our son is now in the first grade at Hardy Elementary. I believe the school system can be even better! I will fight for high standards of excellence, equity, and fiscal responsibility. As a product of the Massachusetts public school system and as an educator myself, excellence in public education is near and dear to my heart. I am committed to empowering and supporting educators, using data and community input to guide decisions, and managing the budget responsibly. Strong schools are built when families, teachers and administrators work together with trust and shared purpose.

My seven siblings and I were all educated in the Wellesley Public Schools (WPS). My wife, Betsey, and I returned to Wellesley to raise our three daughters, who have been in the WPS since kindergarten.

WPS have great students, experienced teachers, engaged parents and a supportive taxpayer base. WPS are very good But, enrollment declines, ranking drops, and parental concerns around a multitude of issues show we can do better. I’ll push for strong, aligned curriculum, common sense policies that support student learning and making sure taxpayer dollars are directed to the classroom.

I will ensure transparency and accountability as well as make sure we have the correct policies, leadership and resources in place to see to it that the schools and students reach their full potential.
