Taxes are always a high priority. Neptune Township and the committee have been fiscally responsible on their portion of the taxes, ( which is 28% of the tax bill), by lowering the municipal budget by 7% this past year, while not cutting any services or jobs. I will actively  Seek out shared services whenever possible to help keep taxes stable in Neptune . This will continue to be a goal for the future.  Public safety is important for the residents well-being.  As part of the Township committee, we approved putting police officers back in the schools to ensure the safety of our children. As a member of the Township committee, I will continue to support the chief of police and the police officers in what they need to make our community

As a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, I have served as Vice President and Financial Secretary of Local 694. I am currently a delegate to District Council 21 and a shop steward for my company. Serving in all these roles prepared me to serve in local government. Over the past eight years as a member of Neptune Township committee I have a proven track record of being a dedicated public servant .

While serving on the Township committee, I have facilitated the restoration of the bulkhead at Fletcher Lake as well as improving the surrounding area by creating a walk path for residents . I facilitated the completion of two charging stations in Ocean Grove for electric cars. Along with the Township committee, we approved our first electric trash truck for the department of Public Works. I will continue to pursue the preservation of the environment.

While serving on the committee these past eight years, I have consistently supported providing more than the minimum quota of affordable housing and I plan to continue to support affordable housing in the future

The major challenges facing our community are uncertainty due to Federal policy changes and their impact on community needs and Neptune Township’s funding sources. We need to be impact-aware then prepared to implement, communicate and receive feedback regarding the services Neptune Township delivers. As a second point, technology is changing how citizens interact with each other and how services are delivered. Employee input is critical to identifying new needs and determining best workflows. Operational changes can create stress in the work environments as job descriptions are impacted. I want to recognize these stresses and have our employees be part of the necessary changes. In summary, I want to foster a friendly, fair and fast environment where we seek to be nimble in addressing a vision of creating happy places for people to gather. In doing so, a virtuous cycle of engagement and prosperity can be created and measured.

I am a certified Project Manager Professional trained to analyze workflows, budgets and foster fair and friendly stakeholder engagement in the pursuit of a common goal. During my career, I have implemented transformative technologies, written Scopes of Work documents, and negotiated Professional Services contracts as both a supplier and a customer. I am an involved citizen who routinely looks at my town’s municipal and school budgets. I want to address the process which allowed Neptune Township to install a larger than expected Pole Barn at the Riley Road Pump Station. As an elected official, I want to foster development that gets built as specified then operated as expected. I want to be a dissenting voice to Pilot Parking for Ocean Grove residents. I find this to be a costly idea which excludes other Neptune from ocean beaches and local points of interest.

I support citizen’s access to data and the power of an informed society to preserve environmental quality. For example, in my personal citizen review of approved building plans I noticed information regarding how the property will be maintained to minimize storm runoff pollution. I want to better understand how these property maintenance commitments are communicated from builder to property owner and operator to mitigate risk to the towns drainage and road infrastructure. I will pursue policies that protect clean air, clean water and minimize impact to the earth. I recognize the infrastructure required to support our energy, transportation and communication needs can only be implemented through multi-agency collaborations and the availability of trusted data.

The Neptune Township Housing Authority and its operation is a major way our community demonstrates commitment to affordable housing. My guiding principles of “friendly, fair, fast” along with “creating happy places for people to gather” align nicely with our community needs and support of affordable housing. When we are guided by friendly, fair, fast, we can build our community and a predictable economy that is adaptable by design allowing us to obtain and pay for the things we need and want in a competitive value-creating marketplace. I am excited about the upcoming development of 1130 Heck Avenue by the Township of Neptune Housing Authority in partnership with The Alpert Group out of Fort Lee NJ. I want to better understand how the Neptune Township Housing Authority operates to maximize the development’s potential as a point of community pride.
