Currently LD39 faces key challenges starting with affordability, especially high property taxes that strain working families and seniors. To help, we must reform school funding to ease tax burdens, expand shared municipal services to cut costs, and promote smart growth that creates affordable housing near transit and town centers.

Education is a top priority as families want well-funded schools that prepare students for the future. We need to invest in school facilities, support teachers with better resources, and expand early childhood and after-school programs that help close achievement gaps.

Public safety is essential. Residents want communities where they feel secure through effective policing, emergency preparedness, and mental health and substance abuse programs. Strengthening law enforcement, community outreach, and mental health resources will boost safety and quality of life district-wide.

I support reforms that strengthen transparency, accountability, and voter participation in New Jersey. That includes expanding early voting and vote-by-mail access, modernizing campaign finance laws to reduce the influence of dark money, and ensuring legislative redistricting is fair and nonpartisan. I also support stronger ethics oversight for elected officials and increased public access to government decision-making. These reforms are about restoring trust and ensuring our democracy works for everyone—not just the well-connected.

To strengthen and support New Jersey’s economy, I’ll focus on practical, pro-growth policies that help working families and small businesses thrive. That includes:

Investing in infrastructure to improve transportation, reduce congestion, and create good-paying jobs.

Supporting small businesses with access to capital, streamlined permitting, and tax incentives for local hiring.

Expanding workforce development and career training programs in partnership with schools, unions, and employers—especially in high-demand sectors like healthcare, clean energy, and technology.

Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship by investing in emerging industries and research hubs.

I will work to ensure that every student in New Jersey has access to a high-quality public education. That starts with updating the school funding formula to ensure state resources are distributed fairly and based on student need. I’ll also support increased investments in school infrastructure, gifted and talented programs, special education, and early childhood programs.

Additionally, I’ll advocate for mental health resources and expanded after-school and career-readiness programs.

I support immigration policies that uphold the rule of law while respecting the dignity and contributions of immigrants in New Jersey. In our diverse state, immigrants are integral to our economy and communities.

Furthermore, I support legislation like the Immigrant Trust Act, which would codify protections for undocumented immigrants, limit data sharing with federal immigration authorities, and ensure that all residents can access essential services without fear

In the current climate, where federal policies may conflict with our state's values, it's crucial that New Jersey continues to stand as a beacon of inclusivity and justice for all residents.

Affordability The State must provide clear, accessible grant funding to municipalities, with guidance on how to reduce costs for taxpayers. Support legislation that incentivizes shared services and regionalized functions to ease the property tax burden. The current Stay NJ program must be restructured—its benefits and funding model are unsustainable and must be reworked to truly support seniors.

Education With federal funding cuts looming, the State must reassess its role in public education. The special needs funding formula, untouched since 2007, must be updated to ensure equitable support. The State should use surplus funds to help local districts preserve traditional learning programs and essential student services. Strong public education is critical to long-term success—for students, families, and our communities.

New Jersey democracy is improving—but real reform requires independence from party bosses. I’m running outside the political machine, without a county line endorsement, because voters—not insiders—deserve to be heard. Our grassroots campaign focuses on direct voter engagement, not backroom deals. I’m proud to be endorsed by the Good Government Coalition of NJ for my commitment to transparency and accountability. In Trenton, we must revisit recent changes that weakened OPRA and campaign finance laws—reforms pushed by entrenched incumbents and political operatives. Voters deserve honest leadership that works for them, not the machine.

As an Assembly candidate, strengthening New Jersey’s economy starts with making sure the people who live and work here come first—not special interests. We need to invest in small businesses by cutting through red tape and making state grant programs easier to access. Let’s focus on real workforce development—programs that lead to good-paying, long-term jobs. We should also invest in infrastructure, support energy and tech industries, and create real incentives for businesses to grow here—not just handouts for big corporations. Property tax reform and targeted tax relief will help working families stay and thrive in New Jersey. This is about building a stronger economy that works for everyone.

I will resurface my response from the first question as public education and funding is a critical item for me.

Almost every president in recent decades supported a secure border, and I agree that border security is necessary. But the current overcorrection is creating unnecessary harm to our communities and neighbors. We need real immigration reform—one that protects public safety, secures our borders, and still reflects the values of opportunity that define this country. People who are here, working hard, paying taxes, and contributing to our society deserve a clear, fair path to citizenship. We must identify and support those individuals while also ensuring that our immigration laws are followed and enforced. I do support the Immigrant Trust Act, but if elected, I would suggest minor changes to make it more effective in balancing public safety with the rights of immigrants. We can be tough on crime and still believe in the American dream.
