New Jersey is on the right track, but the main issue that we continue to deal with is affordability in the state. People continue to see their property taxes go up as they pay more to stay in towns they’ve long called home. Healthcare remains a massive issue for our state, with people paying more and more for coverage that covers less and less. We also see housing becoming more and more unaffordable, with a severe lack of workforce housing in our state contributing to young professionals choosing to leave New Jersey at an alarming rate. It's become harder to call New Jersey home, and I am committed to helping fix that.

I have long championed efforts to make voting more accessible, from expanding mail-in voting to removing barriers faced by individuals with disabilities. We continue to make strides like the creation of in-person early voting, something I just recently helped expand to 6 days this upcoming election. I also wrote the law on the New Jersey Civic Information Consortium, strengthening local news and promoting transparency in our communities. I’ll continue fighting to increase participation and ensure every New Jerseyan has a voice in our democracy.

We must continue to build up "eds and meds" corridor, investing in top level education to build up New Jersey, and then keep the smartest minds in the nation in our state. By investing in our youth and the services around them, were working to stop the "brain drain" and keep New Jerseyans at home to contribute for our state. In keeping a strong workforce, we're continuing to lure companies to New Jersey that will strengthen our economy.

We must continue building up business in our state, while also working to keep New Jersey's finances strong. With a continued commitment to funding our pension, paying our debts, and keeping our surplus, we continue to see our credit rating rise and our economy grow.

In my time as Majority Leader, I've continued to ensure that we see record funding going to our public education, making New Jersey Schools #1 in the nation. This investment is rooted in a belief that every child deserves a high-quality, equitable education that sets them up for success. Still, too many districts face uncertainty due to flaws in the school funding formula. I’m committed to reforming the state's school funding formula, and using lessons from my time in office I will ensure this reform makes school funding more equitable, predictable, and sustainable

Immigrants are a crucial part of our community, growing New Jersey's diversity and helping us prosper. I am committed to defending immigrant rights to ensure they are treated with dignity and respect. As federal attacks continue, I will work to safeguard immigrant communities by supporting policies that defend their contributions and keep our families together.

New Jersey is facing a crisis of affordability and accountability. Working families are being squeezed by high property taxes, rising housing and healthcare costs, and a political system that too often protects insiders over everyday people. We call it the “corruption tax”—when backroom deals and political patronage raise costs for the rest of us.

Now that the county line is gone, we have a real opportunity to shift power back to the people. But that only happens if we elect leaders who will fight for transparency, invest in affordable housing and transit, and pass ethics reforms that reduce the influence of party bosses and corporate lobbyists.

We can’t make New Jersey more affordable without making it more accountable. I’m running to deliver both.

New Jersey’s democracy has long been controlled by powerful party bosses and political machines. The end of the county line was a huge step forward, but real democracy means more than just ballot design. I support reforms that increase transparency, reduce insider influence, and give voters more power.

That includes banning party-branded slogans on ballots, strengthening ethics and anti-pay-to-play laws, making it easier for independent and grassroots candidates to run, and ending the practice of awarding lucrative contracts to political donors. I also support automatic voter registration and expanding early voting access.

Voters should pick their leaders—not the other way around. We need to keep building a system where accountability, fairness, and participation are the foundation of our democracy.

New Jersey’s economy is only strong when it works for everyone, not just the well-connected. To grow a fairer economy, we need to invest in small businesses, infrastructure, and the essential services working families rely on.

I support expanding access to affordable housing and public transit, funding workforce development and apprenticeship programs, and making childcare more affordable so more parents can re-enter the workforce. We also need to close corporate tax loopholes and end backroom deals that benefit political insiders while driving up costs for the rest of us.

By shifting resources away from corruption and toward community needs, we can lower costs, create jobs, and build a more inclusive, sustainable economy that keeps families here in New Jersey.

New Jersey spends more per student than almost any state—but too much of it never reaches the classroom. I support updating the outdated school funding formula to reflect real student needs, and I also support consolidating school districts to reduce overhead and rein in the number of high-paid administrators.

We should be investing in teachers, support staff, universal Pre-K, mental health services, and safe school facilities—not duplicating bureaucracies. I also support reforming the special education funding system and expanding partnerships between county colleges and four-year schools to strengthen pathways to careers.

Every student deserves a quality education, and taxpayers deserve a system that spends smarter and more equitably.

Immigrants are essential to New Jersey’s economy and communities, yet federal immigration policy continues to be driven by cruelty and fear. I strongly oppose the inhumane tactics used by ICE and the broader trend toward criminalizing immigration at the federal level.

At the state level, I support policies that protect immigrant families and expand access to education, healthcare, and legal support regardless of immigration status. That includes fully funding legal aid, ensuring language access in schools and agencies, and rejecting cooperation between local law enforcement and ICE.

I also support in-state tuition for undocumented students, access to driver’s licenses, and strong worker protections for immigrant labor. Our state is strongest when we treat all our neighbors with dignity and create opportunities for everyone to thrive—no exceptions.

One of the most pressing challenges facing New Jersey in 2025 is affordability, especially in housing and the cost of living for working families. Expanding the ANCHOR property tax relief program is a key step in providing more aid to middle class homeowners and renters who are struggling with rising costs. I also fully support the StayNJ program, which offers vital property tax relief to seniors, helping them remain in their homes. Additionally, I am committed to funding universal pre-K in the state. By easing one of the biggest financial burdens for working families, we can ensure that all children have access to early education while helping parents manage their expenses. Supporting these programs is essential to making New Jersey more affordable and ensuring that all residents have the opportunity to thrive.

New Jersey has made strides in expanding access to voting through measures like in-person early voting and greater availability of mail-in ballots. However, I believe we must pass legislation that safeguards these rights and ensures no future leader can undermine the voting rights of citizens which is why I signed on to cosponsor the John R. Lewis Voter Empowerment Act, which aims to combat discriminatory policies and ensure equitable access for all voters. I also support initiatives that enhance ballot access, protect voters from intimidation, and provide language assistance to ensure everyone can participate in the democratic process. Additionally, I support creating a centralized online portal for real-time election data, building on the 2023 law signed by Governor Murphy that enhances transparency by requiring ongoing vote tally updates until all ballots are counted and the election is certified.

As a former small business owner, I understand the critical role small businesses play in New Jersey's economy. They provide jobs for over 2 million people and drive innovation and growth across various sectors. With nearly 953,000 small businesses in the state, representing over 99% of all businesses, it’s essential we continue to support them. I am committed to advocating for bills like A4749, which ensures the New Jersey Business Action Center offers key resources to help small businesses navigate regulations and access financial assistance. I also support measures like A573, which streamlines construction inspections, A4750, which creates a public commercial space database, and A4753, which provides a 30-day window for businesses to address non-health and safety violations. These legislative efforts are designed to reduce obstacles, promote growth, and ensure small businesses thrive in New Jersey’s competitive environment.

Having worked as a special education teacher, I understand the need for equitable education funding. New Jersey has increased K-12 education spending by 49%, with every dollar now equating to $1.49. This demonstrates our commitment to providing the resources students need for success. We’ve also invested significantly in early education, pre-K, higher education, and workforce development, including community colleges and vocational training.

I will advocate for continued improvements to the funding formula, building on the S2 Act, which fully implemented the SFRA formula. The SFRA ensures that funding is distributed based on actual student needs, directing more resources to districts facing greater challenges. Going forward, I will continue to support measures to ensure that funding is distributed fairly across districts, so that every student has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of where they live.

As a legislator, I am proud of the steps the New Jersey Legislature has taken to support immigrants and protect their rights. One of the most important actions has been the codification of the NJ Immigrant Trust Directive through the NJ Immigrant Trust Act, which ensures the protection and dignity of all immigrants, regardless of their documentation status. This law builds trust between immigrant communities and local law enforcement by limiting cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, providing lasting protection against political shifts. I also support policies like providing in-state tuition for undocumented students, recognizing their vital role in New Jersey’s economy.

The biggest challenge facing New Jersey in 2025 is the corruption tax — the hidden cost that every resident pays when political insiders put their own deals, patronage jobs, and special interests ahead of the public good.

New Jersey families already struggle with some of the highest property taxes and living costs in the country. But behind those bills is another, invisible burden: • Bloated government contracts handed to politically connected firms at inflated prices. • Tax breaks and sweetheart deals for insiders, while ordinary families pay full freight. • Wasted public funds, like the millions lost in failed projects pushed by political bosses, such as the American Dream Mall bailouts and shady real estate development subsidies in Camden that never delivered real jobs. • Self-serving ballot changes, like the recent law making it harder for outsiders to get on the ballot, designed to protect careers — not communities.

Voters deserve ballots that are organized fairly — not designed to protect incumbents. • Ban pay-to-play politics. We must close loopholes that allow political donors to buy influence through contracts, appointments, and inside deals. • Open public records and meetings. County and municipal governments should be required to post budgets, meeting minutes, and contracts online — and schedule meetings when working people can actually attend. • Protect fair elections. We need stronger protections against gerrymandering and rules that make it easier — not harder — for ordinary citizens to run for office. • Independent oversight. Create an empowered, independent ethics watchdog to investigate corruption without political interference.

The first step to strengthening New Jersey’s economy is cutting the corruption tax — the hidden cost of insider deals, bloated contracts, and pay-to-play politics that drive up taxes and drive out jobs.

Every dollar wasted on political favors is a dollar not spent fixing roads, funding schools, or investing in small businesses. If we build a government that’s honest and efficient, we can build an economy that’s strong and fair. Here’s my plan: • Cut wasteful spending. Audit state contracts and eliminate no-bid deals that only benefit political donors. • Invest in real infrastructure. Focus on fixing roads, bridges, public transit, and broadband — the basic building blocks every business and family needs to thrive. • Support small businesses and startups. Shift incentives away from giant corporations toward local businesses, entrepreneurs, and job creators who actually invest in New Jersey communities. • Expand workforce training. Strengthen partnerships with community colleges.

Here’s what I’ll fight for: • Fully fund public schools under the law. New Jersey’s school funding formula is designed to promote fairness, but it only works if leaders actually follow it — not shortchange certain districts for political reasons. • Audit education spending. Make sure public dollars are going into classrooms — not inflated contracts, sweetheart building deals, or administrative waste. • Support teachers and staff. Ensure competitive pay, reduce class sizes, and give educators the tools they need to succeed. • Expand early childhood education. Invest in universal pre-K programs, particularly in under-resourced communities, to close opportunity gaps before they start. • Protect local control. Keep school boards accountable to parents and communities — not political bosses or corporate interests.

I support immigration policies that treat every person with dignity, strengthen our economy, and respect the fact that immigration has always been part of New Jersey’s story.

Oppose cruel policies that separate families or treat asylum seekers inhumanely. • Invest in local communities. Support programs that help immigrants integrate — such as language access, job training, and legal aid services — so that all New Jersey residents have a fair shot at success.
