In my opinion the single most important issue facing New Jersey today is preserving our state’s rights. I say this in the face of a federal administration that is looking to take away our rights. The other critical issue facing NJ is affordability in general and specifically as it pertains to housing. So many people cannot afford to purchase or even rent a home. This is driving up homelessness and keeping many people from getting ahead. To address this, I would fight for more housing that low income people can afford. I would push for legislation to enforce the Mt Laurel Doctrine. It is much easier to hold a job if you have a place to live. It is also easier to hold a job if you can use mass transportation to commute to work. I would push for reinstatement of the Corporate Business Tax and an end to the turnpike widening in order to get funding available to implement mass transportation in southern NJ. I would also push to get federal funding from the IIJA to South NJ.

Having been a plaintiff on Andy Kim's County Line Lawsuit, I was very supportive of ending the County Line style ballot. I would push to amend the recently passed ballot design law to include additional democratic reforms. I would like to see a rollback of the OPRA restrictions enacted during the Murphy Administration. I would like to see changes in the Elections Transparency Act that was anything but TRANSPARENT. I would push for legislation that would reduce PAY TO PLAY opportunities in NJ as well as other implementation of "actual" transparency initiatives. I would like to see Open Primaries so unaffiliated voters could vote in primaries without joining the Democratic Party or the Republican Party. I would love to see Ranked Choice Voting implemented in NJ.

In addition to increasing the supply of affordable houses & bringing mass transit to Southern NJ, I would like to see a minimum wage that is indexed to the CPI. Anyone willing to work fulltime in a minimum wage job should NOT live below the poverty level. I would also like to see an increase in job skills training in our public schools. If high school graduates are prepared to work in the trades (plumbing, carpentry, mechanics, electronics, IT, etc.) they will be able to immediately contribute to NJ's economy. I would also like to see Universal Pre-K FULLY implemented in NJ. If low income families had a safe place for their children during the work day, it would allow both parents to work without the high cost of child care. For young families, having 2 incomes will help them contribute to the economy while giving their children a head start on their education. It's a win/win! Better educated children will eventually become adults who contribute in a positive way to our economy

New Jersey's school funding formula is based on a combination of local property taxes, state aid, and federal aid. I would propose that all local property taxes earmarked for Public education be sent to the state and then distributed equitably among all schools in the state. The total amount of local taxes collected would be divided by the total number of students in the state. Money would go to each school based on the student population of that school. In doing so, schools in economically disadvantaged areas would not suffer from lower funding due to a lower tax base. All students would be funded equally. I believe any additional state aid earmarked for public education should be used to equalize the resources available at all schools. To date, schools in economically disadvantaged areas have less resources than schools in economically affluent areas. All students should have access to the resources needed for a successful education regardless of the economic status of their parents.

I support passage of S3672/A4987, the Immigrant Trust Act. It offers protections to immigrants so they can live in NJ without fearing their routine interactions with state and local government may lead to arrest and deportation. Immigrants should be able to register for and utilize healthcare, reporting wage theft, or contacting law enforcement without fear.

1.) I will propose my "Coastal Housing Act", this will limit corporations from buying up homes in our residential communities for the sole purpose of Air BnB/ short term rentals. I seek to set statewide zoning standards in residential communities to ensure citizens and residents have a place to live.

2.) I want to work with other states that are affected by federal tariffs and create interstate contracts for goods like food. I think this could lower food costs while supporting American Farmers and business owners.

3.) We need a more aggressive approach to the rise of fentanyl in our communities. I will debut my policy plans after the primary. This policy will have drug dealers shaking in their boots.

I want mental health reform, starting with the psych facilities. We need to extend the same investigations into rehab facilities and make it a law that no one is to be turned away if they seek help.

Government Reform:

-Ranked Choice or Fusion Voting -Reversing the bill that rolled back part of the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) - Same day voters registration - Open primary elections, so non affiliated voters have a voice when they support a partisan candidate without having to switch their voter registration.

I will sit in the room and seek the counsel from experts. We need to look into unnecessary spending and work on decreasing our state deficit.

I think incentivizing companies to invest in NJ would also strengthen our economy. Bringing in new industry would supply jobs and further increase tax revenue.

To ensure equitable funding and support for public education, I will advocate for a school funding formula that prioritizes need. Recognizing that many schools, particularly older ones, lack essential infrastructure like air conditioning, I will initiate a statewide assessment of school facilities to identify and address such disparities. By investing in necessary upgrades, we can create safe and conducive learning environments for all students, regardless of their zip code.

I was actively involved in missions that enforced our immigration laws while I was Active Duty in the United States Coast Guard. I will form my opinion of policies based on the law, the best interests of our state, and with compassion and respect of all people.

I support protections for DACA recipients and law-abiding immigrants who contribute to our state’s economy and culture. I also support the right to due process of the law. While I believe in strong borders and the importance of vetting, I also believe local law enforcement should focus on community safety, not federal immigration enforcement, which is why I support the principles behind the Immigrant Trust Act. It ensures that local resources are used effectively and that residents feel safe reporting crimes or accessing services without fear.
