What are the three most important issues facing the City of Menomonie and what are your recommendations for each?
Menomonie’s biggest challenge is housing. First, we don’t have enough homes to meet demand, so we must update our zoning to allow and encourage smart residential development. Second, many rental properties and homes are deteriorating. People are living with unstable structures, unhealthy conditions, and unaffordable monthly rent. I aim to bring back rental inspection programs to ensure safe and secure housing for our community. Third, businesses are hesitating to invest here due to our lack of housing and neglected infrastructure. In addition to housing fixes, we must repair our roads and improve city upkeep to attract new jobs and support existing businesses. By addressing these key issues, we are building a safer community, a stronger economy, and greater opportunities for all of us.
