What skills and experience do you bring to school board service?
As a principal real estate broker and small business owner, I bring strong leadership, budgeting, and strategic planning skills to school board service. I have experience working with diverse stakeholders, making data-driven decisions, and managing complex projects. My background in community relations, hospitality, and real estate also gives me insight into facilities planning and long-term infrastructure needs. I’m committed to transparency, collaboration, and ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education.
What is your understanding of the District’s obligations to comply with federal and state education policies?
Centennial School District is required to comply with all federal and state education laws, including those related to equity, special education, curriculum standards, student safety, and accountability. This includes implementing policies that support all learners, providing appropriate services, and ensuring non-discrimination. Compliance also means responsible reporting, use of funds, and meeting performance benchmarks. The school board plays a key role in overseeing and ensuring our district leadership meets these obligations with integrity and transparency.
How would you address the issues facing the District’s schools that you consider the most urgent?
I would start by actively listening to students, families, teachers, and staff to fully understand the most pressing issues. Key priorities include improving academic outcomes, supporting student mental health, and addressing staffing challenges. I’d work to ensure responsible budgeting that prioritizes classrooms and student support. Transparency, accountability, and collaboration are essential. By focusing on data-driven solutions and open communication, we can make meaningful progress on the most urgent needs.
