What differentiates you from the other candidates and current board members?
l take the job of supervising and evaluating the superintendent and administration on leadership performance. I will help create policy that makes sense for administration and staff to follow. All while advocating for our students and teachers.
Students need teachers who look like them and they need to be exposed to teachers and perspectives different from their own. What will you do to advance the recruitment of teachers who reflect the diversity of your School District's student body?
Our school and school board needs to emphasize the importance of relational trust and support for teachers of color. We need to create teacher apprenticeship program which creates more access for people to enter the teaching field. Ensuring that teachers of color are represented in conversations about recruiting and retaining teachers.
What is the role of a school board member in your school district? What do you see as a board member’s responsibilities?
First and for most to have the best intentions for our teachers and students, especially our students with special needs and mental struggles. Finding ways and solution so our "teachers can teach" and have the time and support to prepare for there students and classes. Our school board needs to get involved in all areas of the school and interact with teachers and students.
