Please describe your priorities for your term in office.
My priorities while I serve as village president include but are not limited to: reducing unnecessary spending, making sure departments run at highest efficiency, increasing community based programs and volunteer opportunities, beautifying our parks and business districts.
What would you do to promote civility and cooperative problem-solving in your community?
Developing community programs that engage residents to come together for a common goal such as painting the park pavilion or planting trees is a good start. I believe having hyper transparency regarding spending and future projects will also help in calming the divide since information will be easily accessible and available to those who want it.
What is the most pressing social service issue facing your community and what should your local government do about it?
We have an apathy epidemic in our community. Civic pride is very low and I think developing programs that focus on volunteer work as well as events that highlight our rich history would help to bring a more positive mindset to our community. Also, along the lines of volunteering, helping those who need it in our community, whether elderly or maybe in a rough economic situation can help foster the pride needed to see a community flourish
