I bring hands-on experience managing healthcare-adjacent programs like senior nutrition services, including medically tailored meals. I’ve also led financial planning and oversight for nonprofits serving vulnerable populations, including those facing mental health and housing challenges. My strength lies in combining fiscal responsibility with community-centered solutions.

The proposed merger with Quorum raises important questions, and I believe we need more transparency and public discussion before moving forward. While it's clear the hospital is facing serious financial issues that need to be addressed, any long-term solution must protect access to care, preserve local jobs, and ensure community oversight. I’m open to exploring all options, but I want to see more data, hear from healthcare staff, and understand the long-term implications before making a decision.

The District faces serious financial instability, workforce shortages, and growing community health needs—especially around mental health and access to care. I would push for full transparency around financial decisions, explore sustainable funding options, and prioritize staffing support and retention. We also need stronger collaboration with local partners to address health needs outside the hospital and reduce pressure on emergency services.

A have been a business owner for 40 years, served as a City Councilor for 8 years all of which gives me experience with Public and Private budgets, which seems critical for the Hospital at this moment.

With the news last week of the 47 million dollar default I think it would be wise to wait until a new Board convenes. The current Board practices are not transparent, but should be. After all the District is publicly owned and is accountable to its citizens.

First the reasons for the Default must be addressed. Then the development of a realistic budget that will add financial stability to the District. Finally, develop healthcare programs that serve our community.

I have spent most of my adult life working within hospital systems across the country—from Vermont to New York and, for over 15 years, in Colorado—both in rural and metropolitan areas. My career began in emergency medical services. I advanced into direct patient care in the surgical suite, providing autotransfusion while collaborating with doctors, nurses, and anesthesiologists to support surgical interventions.

As I pursued my education to become an opioid treatment specialist, I provided direct care to patients and clients while overseeing a pain management clinic for one of the leading orthopedic groups in the country.

I have yet to form a decision as I believe there is not adequate information to make an informed decision at this time.
