What skills and experience do you bring to school board service?
My past experiences as a Children’s Ministry Director, volunteer for various organizations, and customer service relations, as well as my (nearly complete) degree in Psychology have prepared me with excellent communication to the public—adults and children alike.
I have a strong passion for positive mental health and to see children, teens, and adults succeed. This, along with my regular involvement in the community, affords me a better understanding of what we, as a community, need and how to fill such needs.
I hope to pair my experiences, passion, and understanding together to the benefit of the school board.
What is your understanding of the District’s obligations to comply with federal and state education policies?
While I am not aware of every state and federal policy that the district must comply with, I understand the importance of doing so to ensure proper funding for our schools.
Regardless of my election, I intend to seek a better understanding of these policies to better serve our community and school board.
How would you address the issues facing the District’s schools that you consider the most urgent?
To address any issues within the District, we must start with a full education and understanding of them. Because I am not aware of the policies, funding, or other requirements that must be addressed with each issue the district faces, I would begin with education on the topics to be addressed.
