The most important challenge facing our country is the trampling of human rights. Whether we're talking about the rollback of Roe v. Wade or bathroom bills aimed at discriminating against marginalized groups or the awful immigration policy executed by ICE, human rights are under siege in a way we haven't seen since Jim Crow laws. I believe a constitutional amendment is needed to clarify and make the 14th Amendment stronger. In the meantime, Congress should pass a law making abortion legal in all states. Abolishing ICE is also absolutely necessary.

Healthcare is a right. Medicare for all or any other mechanism that provides health care for everyone should be implemented. Insurance companies shouldn't be able to dictate what happens in doctors' offices, or what medications or surgeries a patience can receive. VA benefits should allow payments at all hospitals, not just VA hospitals. Medicare and Medicaid should be accepted everywhere.

We need to abolish ICE. There is no saving that agency. It has eroded all trust with Americans and is costing too much. There is a better way to do immigration enforcement. The focus of immigration officials needs to be on a common sense, fast track to citizenship in this country working with immigrants and their families rather than against them.

Economic hardship is the most pressing issue facing this district. Whether you're talking about the calamitous impact tariffs and the Iran War have had on our farmers and consumers or the failure of salaries in this district to keep pace with the state and national average, Fourth District Kansans are feeling real economic stress. To turn this around, we need to increase the national minimum wage to at least $17, remove the tariffs, and take back the war powers for Congress to stop these costly wars, bringing down gas prices in the process.

The first step is to recognize we have free and fair elections. There are only 2000 reported cases of election fraud between 2000 and 2012. That's .000003 cases for every vote cast. We need to end Republican propaganda around voter fraud. It is not a real issue, the safeguards are already in place. We should be more focused on making elections more accessible and making it easier for people to vote.

We need to overturn Citizens United and recent cases removing caps on campaigns for funding. There should be a cap on receiving funds for all federal campaigns. Money has altered the political landscape making it impossible for an average person to run for office. Until we fix a system that rewards the candidates that raise the most money the system will stay broken. Politicians shouldn't be getting rich, they should be getting results. That is why I chose to run on limited campaign donations and focus on conversations and social media reach.

I am a proud gun owner and will always protect the right to bear arms. With great fire power comes great responsibility, and every sensible gun owner knows this. Licensing of weapons and a national database, are just some of the commonsense gun solutions we can put to work for us and keep our kids safe.

The most important challenge right now is to end the war in Iran.

Congress needs to pass the War Powers Act to limit the powers of the President to conduct war without Congress permission.

I think Obamacare should be reinstated for the millions of Americans who lost their insurance when Congress let it expire.

We need to keep our borders secure. Immigrants need to come in through the proper procedures.

Bringing down inflation would be the first priority. You can't bring down inflation while wars are going on. The lower class always feels the brunt of inflation the hardest.

All voters should have a valid photo ID to vote.

There's always been money in politics and the people with money have always found a way to find work arounds so they can fund the politicians and policies that they want to. I don't think the government should be involved in campaign financing.

Federal government already requires background checks before you can purchase a firearm.

I think the greatest challenge facing our country is the growing influence of money in government. Too often, elected officials are more responsive to major donors, corporations, and special interests than to the people they represent. A healthy democracy requires that every citizen’s voice carries weight. In Congress, I would work to overturn Citizens United, ban stock trading by members of Congress, strengthen transparency requirements, and support term limits. I also support shortening campaign seasons so lawmakers can spend more time governing and less time fundraising. Government should answer to voters, not the highest bidder.

Healthcare should be accessible and affordable for every American. While I support universal coverage as a long-term goal, we must take practical steps now to expand access and lower costs. I would restore and strengthen ACA premium subsidies, reduce prescription drug prices, and work across party lines to improve areas of the Affordable Care Act that have fallen short. I am also interested in exploring a public option alongside private marketplace plans. The current system leaves too many people uninsured or struggling with high costs, and we need solutions that improve coverage, affordability, and outcomes.

Our immigration system should be secure, orderly, and humane. I would begin with the bipartisan Senate border and immigration proposal negotiated in 2024, which included faster asylum processing, additional resources for border management, and authority to address surges at the border. From there, I would work with border communities, law enforcement, employers, immigrants, and policy experts to identify improvements. Lasting reform will require practical solutions, strong border security, and a legal immigration system that reflects our nation’s economic needs while safeguarding human rights.

We must focus on lowering costs and improving affordability for working families. My priorities include restoring congressional authority over tariffs and pursuing trade policies that support Kansas farmers, manufacturers, and consumers. I also support policies that strengthen domestic energy production, reduce supply-chain disruptions, and encourage competition to help keep prices in check. Kansans feel the impact of rising costs every day—from groceries to housing to fuel—and Congress should focus on policies that increase economic opportunity and make it easier for families to get ahead.

I support legislation similar to the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. This would strengthen protections against voter discrimination, restore the "preclearance review" of certain voting-law changes in jurisdictions with a history of voter discrimination, and increase transparency by requiring significant election law changes to be publicly announced well before elections. We can protect election integrity while also ensuring every eligible American has a fair opportunity to participate in our democracy.

We can protect Second Amendment rights while taking commonsense steps to reduce gun violence. I support expanding background checks, strengthening laws that keep firearms out of the hands of dangerous individuals--including domestic abusers-- and increasing funding for gun violence prevention research. I am also open to measures such as a national red flag framework, regulation of assault-style weapons, banning ghost guns, and improving accountability throughout the firearms industry. The goal is to reduce preventable tragedies while respecting responsible gun ownership.
