Why are you the best candidate for this position? (750 characters)
I believe I am the best candidate for Cambridge City Council because I bring a proven record of public service, professional experience, and a commitment to making thoughtful, data-driven decisions. Since moving to Cambridge in 2014, I have served on the Planning Commission, including as Chair, the Cambridge-Isanti School Board, and now the City Council. My background in law enforcement, education, local government, and public administration provides a broad perspective on the issues facing our community. I remain committed to public safety, infrastructure investment, responsible growth, transparency, and serving residents with integrity. Public Service with Purpose continues to guide my work.
If elected, what will your top three priorities be and why? (500 characters)
My top three priorities will continue to be: (1) maintaining strong public safety services to keep Cambridge a safe place to live and raise a family; (2) investing in infrastructure, including streets, utilities, and parks, to support our growing community; and (3) ensuring responsible, data-driven growth that balances housing and economic development with the character and quality of life residents value. These priorities are essential to Cambridge's long-term success and financial stability.
How do you plan to engage with and represent all members of our diverse community?(500 characters)
I believe effective representation starts with listening. I will continue engaging residents through public meetings, community events, social media, and one-on-one conversations with residents, business owners, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Every resident deserves to be heard and treated with respect. My role is to consider diverse perspectives, evaluate the facts, and make transparent, data-driven decisions that serve the best interests of the entire Cambridge community.
What steps will you take to ensure transparency and accountability in city government? (500 characters)
Transparency and accountability require open communication and public engagement. During my current term, I advocated for a city communications plan that expanded the City's website and social media presence, making information more accessible to residents. I will continue supporting public participation, accessible records, and clear explanations of my votes. Residents deserve a government that operates openly, honestly, and with integrity.
