What unique experience/qualifications would you bring to this office if elected?
I am a mother, grandmother, retired Y-12 project manager, and an active volunteer in the community and my church. I believe all of this experience will help with bringing legislation that supports my constituents needs.
What legislation would you support to improve access to quality health care while controlling cost for individuals, employers, and tax payers?
Using the federal tax dollars that Tennessee workers pay to expand Medicaid (TN CARE) is the first thing we should do. This allows coverage for those who can't afford it and helps to keep our rural hospitals open
What is the top concern that citizens in your district have expressed to you recently, and what might be done to address it?
Vouchers. All governing bodies and school boards in Anderson County have declared that they do not want vouchers. Public funding should stay in public schools. Vouchers go to private schools that do not have the same requirements as our public schools. They also can pick whether want to admit to their schools, leaving those students that require more support in the public schools.
Tennessee currently ranks 10th highest in the nation for gun deaths per capita. What legislation would you support to reduce gun deaths in Tennessee?
I would like common sense gun safety measures. This include universal background checks, safe storage requirements and Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO).
