Why are you running for the State Legislature?

To get more money for Maury County Elemschools; to get reasonable gun laws enacted; to expand Medicaid eligibility, to get law enacted to have uninsured have to pay no more than an insurance company would pay (they all pay the same amount Medicare pays for most procedures/treatments. This means medical providers/hospitals bill $15,000 and ins. companies pay $1,500); Demand better mental & physical care for Iraq/Afghanistan Vets. after leaving military; PROTECT ALL WOMEN'S RIGHTS! ; Require Tn. gov. to POST all laws enacted each year on Statewide site. for citizens. Enact HOA law to protect homeowners and make BODs responsible for timely financial reporting, reserves, fair rules, and enforcing "no-conflict of interest" in choosing vendors.

What do you think are the top 5 issues facing the state of Tennessee at this time, that can be addressed by the Tennessee General Assembly?

Transparency; draconian abortion laws; unfair pay and working conditions in workplace. S. Cepicky helped pass law law making Educ. Boards "partisan" (i.e. no Dems.). Primary and secondary education ranking remain in the bottom 15% nationwide. Lack of Medicaid eligibility for a persons' making more than $25 when $25k isn't enough to afford health ins.. Dems being unable to get bills passed in HOUSE dominated by Repubs. (74R-25D). Repub. TN LAW requiring felons to get gun license BEFORE they can register to vote! Failure to pass HOA laws that protect Make TN law to protect Homeowners & make HOA BODs responsible for integrity. Renters exploited by big mo. rent increase even in poorly maintained buildings. Black infant mortality rates.

If elected, what are the top 3 things you would do to reduce gun related deaths in Tennessee?

Fight for reasonable gun laws that require abuser cannot own guns. Monitor police activity in the field regarding gun and weapon use (The Tn Community Oversight Board overseeing the police was quietly disbanded by Repubs.) Young Afr. Amer. males need more protection. No guns stock and AR-15s to be sold by gun stores or dealers. Background check to include history of reported mental health issues of causing/potentially causing violence, that are reported to parents by schools, or vice-versa, must be reported. End law that foster teachers' carrying guns. (Are police going to be asked to police AND teach?). No felons convicted of gun or other weapon actions can ever obtain a gun, and can never be employed as police, sheriff or state trooper
