Have you ever served as a Precinct Committeeman?

No, I never realized how important Precinct Committeemen are. I'm excited to have the opportunity to represent my neighborhood.

What do you think are the most important priorities as a Precinct Committeeman?

To represent my friends and neighbors in the political process. The KCRCC is the organization that promotes Republican values in Kootenai County. I want to represent how I believe most of my neighbors think. I believe that that is to get to a more reasonable, but still conservative, direction for the Party.

How long have you been a voter in Kootenai County?

I grew up in Wallace, went to college at NIC and ISU, and then moved to Rathdrum. I voted here while I was at NIC. Ever since I moved back to Rathdrum in 1979, I have voted. So, 44 years.

Is there anything else you would like to tell the voters?

I think that the Republican Central Committee in Kootenai County is not representing the views of most of the party members. We all want similar things-good financial decisions, good support for families, and to listen to all views and then make the best decision for our county. I have always been a middle of the road guy. All people have valuable ideas. I lean to the conservative side of the road on most things. I don't think we should be wasting money. I don't like a lot of far left agendas, but I'm not afraid for people to become informed about ideas. People are smart, they can make their own decisions about things that affect them. I think compromise is the foundation of what has made America the greatest country in the world. Vote

Have you ever served as a Precinct Committeeman?

I have served as a Precinct Committeeman several terms since the year 2000. I am currently the Precinct Committeeman for Precinct 305 in Rathdrum. I am a hard worker and have NEVER missed a monthly meeting. Recently I was involved in running the Caucus in March of this year. Many of you know me because I stand for 12 hours outside our polling place handing out candidate info. I was also involved in organizing our neighbors to get a turning lane at the bottom of Hidden Valley Road. I am homesteaded on Hidden Valley Rd on 40 acres and plan to live here forever. I am highly invested in my community. I consider it an honor to be part of the KCRCC . The survival of our Republic depends on grassroots involvement in our community.

What do you think are the most important priorities as a Precinct Committeeman?

A Precinct Committeeman is a volunteer that keeps his neighbors involved in the political process. Not everyone has time to do background checks and interview every candidate. We are responsible for going to forums and candidate "meet and greets" to learn as much as we can about each candidate. In Idaho, it is impossible for Democrats to run and win so they switch their voter registrations and attempt to run as a Republican. We do our best to weed out the "fakers". Our mission statement is "to enhance freedom and prosperity by promoting fiscally and socially conservative candidates who will implement the Idaho Republican Platform". Precinctmen also attend the Idaho Convention where the leadership of Idaho is chosen every two years.

How long have you been a voter in Kootenai County?

I called the Elections Office and they said they could see my records as far back as 1999. I have lived in Kootenai County since 1992.

Is there anything else you would like to tell the voters?

Go to the Kootenaigop.org website for a wealth of information about the elections, how the KCRCC rates and vets candidates, etc... Be aware that some big money from PACs and our local liberal press often support more liberal candidates. Do your research and study the Sunshine Reports online to see who is funding candidates. Follow the money! It took decades to weed out the establishment big money families out of our politics. We now have a grassroots movement for a free Idaho but that could change in a heartbeat if voters are not careful. In recent years we have seen copycat voting guides that have confused voters. Call your current precinctman if you have any questions. You can find your precinctman's contact info in the website!
