If elected, I aim to focus on sustainable infrastructure development, enhance educational opportunities, and implement sensible cannabis policies. My goals include driving economic growth through strategic investments and ensuring fiscal accountability to better utilize taxpayer dollars. Additionally, I plan to enhance government transparency, ensuring that decisions are made openly and with community input. Ultimately, my mission is to ensure that the policies we enact truly reflect and benefit the constituents of our district, making it a better place for current and future generations.

Although I'm new to politics, my background in management, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship has equipped me with key skills in problem-solving and strategic planning. 1. What do you hope to accomplish if elected?
Idahoans deserve security and transparency in their elections. I am working to ensure we have clarity on the “dark money” being spent in our Idaho elections. No one wants out-of-state special interests poisoning Idaho’s elections.
There are also several burdensome and unnecessary agriculture codes that I’m working to update. Early intervention for children not performing at grade level is a concern and we need to address best practices to help children succeed. Of course, I will continue to advocate for legislation that supports Idaho’s public schools and facilities.
Continued investment in transportation and infrastructure will be critical to our area meeting the challenges of growth that we will see in our community.
2. What experience has prepared you for this office?
My husband and I are fortunate to own and operate a farming operation in Eastern Idaho. As the CFO for Mickelsen Farms, I’ve learned the value of having a good team, working with people, minimizing risk, and sound financial planning. My degree in economics has helped me understand financial trends and how to be cautious with state resources. Serving in my community in various roles such as: Trustee for College of Eastern Idaho, Idaho Farm Bureau State Director, Bonneville County Farm Bureau President, EIRMC Board of Directors, Bonneville County Republican Women President and Legislative District 30 Chair have helped me meet and interact with different segments of my legislative district and the various challenges our community faces.
3. What do you see as the most significant challenges Idaho faces that you might be able to address in this position?
The residents of Bonneville County have reached out and made clear their concerns for the future of Idaho. They want education to be a priority with good, safe schools. Historic growth has brought with it infrastructure needs for roads and bridges and a need to support public safety. I will fight to keep local control for schools, counties, and cities. Over-regulation is not only costing taxpayers money it is killing businesses in Idaho. It’s important to remember that the lightest touch of government is best and every law we pass places a burden somewhere. Women’s public health issues seem to be a major concern within our community as well.

Interference in private health decisions is disturbing. Physicians’ hands are tied when addressing women's reproduction and their future ability to have children. Physicians need to treat women without threat of criminal liability and loss of their license is paramount. If we don’t address this issue, we will continue to lose good doctors. Women need to know that when they go to their doctor with life-threatening conditions, they won’t be shipped out of state or ignored until irreparable harm comes. A licensed medical doctor should be allowed to make the decisions that best meet the needs of their patient - including weighing the risks of a non-viable pregnancy with their future fertility. IVF should continue to be an option for couples.

Having a part-time legislature creates unique representation for the the citizens of our state. The diversity of background, experiences, and values helps our state create solutions that work best for our Idaho communities. Having representatives and senators live the majority of the year in their home districts keeps our government small and close to the people. I will continue to work for solutions that serve the best interest of Bonneville County communities and residents.
